DALLAS – The Dallas law firm of Gruber Hurst Johansen Hail L.L.P. is expanding the firm's courtroom litigation expertise with the addition of attorneys Dena DeNooyer Stroh as Senior Counsel and David F. Wishnew as an Associate.

Ms. Stroh has obtained favorable outcomes for clients in all aspects of civil litigation in both federal and state courts, most recently in matters involving securities. Her courtroom experience includes the defense of a home mortgage servicer following a lengthy jury trial over claims of wrongful foreclosure, and a favorable judgment for an Internet service provider against a contempt motion and non-party discovery under the Electronic Communications Privacy Act.

Ms. Stroh participates in numerous professional and civic activities, and served as president of the 2,800 member Dallas Association of Young Lawyers in 2009. She was first elected to the DAYL Board of Directors in 2002, and has served as co-chair of various DAYL committees in addition to her continued service on the board. She also is a founding member of the Dallas Talented and Gifted Foundation, and member of the Site-Based Decision Making Team of the Dallas ISD's Talented and Gifted Magnet High School.

Featured for the past four years on the Texas Rising Stars list of the state's top young attorneys in Texas Monthly magazine, Ms. Stroh earned her law degree, with honors, from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University and her undergraduate degree from Yale University. She previously was a partner in the Dallas firm of Carrington Coleman.

Mr. Wishnew is experienced in a wide range of commercial, employment, construction, and bankruptcy litigation. His experience includes representing individuals, small businesses and large corporations as both defendants and plaintiffs in state and federal courts. Mr. Wishnew has secured favorable judgments on behalf of a large utility company against breach of contract claims, and successfully represented a Fortune 500 telecommunications company in disputes involving property damage.

He earned his law degree, with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law and his undergraduate degree with honors from Rhodes College, where he was a two-time All-American Scholar Athlete. Mr. Wishnew previously practiced as an associate in the Dallas firm of Hiersche, Hayward, Drakeley & Urbach.

“Dena and David each bring outstanding credentials and a wealth of courtroom experience,” says Michael Hurst, co-founder of Gruber Hurst Johansen Hail. “Additionally, Dena has an obvious commitment to serving the legal and educational communities, while David brings invaluable prior business experience in the securities and insurance industries. We're very pleased to have them join us.”
